Hook rigs are made up using Maruto stainless steel closed gape hooks. 8/0 rigs use 430 lb stainless steel wire. 10/0 rigs use 650 lb stainless steel wire.  Single hook rigs use 400 lb mono. All hooks are worked ( post packet) to produce a sharp point with a slimline taper for better initial penetration on hook up. All rigs are finished with 400 lb mono and thimbles (for wind on traces) or protective tubing (for full length traces).
